Four trainees were accepted from the SEAFDEC
four nations of Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia,
and Thailand for our training program from
August 29 through September 7.
They took lectures including
the overview
of Gifu Prefectural Research
Institute for
Fisheries and Aquatic Environments
and Gifu
Prefectural Inland fisheries
Training Center,
GIAHS “Ayu of the Nagara
River System”,
resource management in
river fishery, clear
waters conservation, and
attended practical
training pertaining to
DNA analysis technique
for fish disease diagnosis.
In addition, they went to angling ayu by
decoy, cormorant fishing, and aquaculture
farms (carp, catfish, sturgeon) on a field
trip.
On the last day, we shared views with them
on various issues which researchers have
and improvements over our training project.
