Trainees Accepted from
Southeast Asia (SEAFDEC
member countries)


Eight trainees were accepted from seven countries among the SEAFDEC (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center) member countries, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand, including a researcher from SEAFDEC, for our training program from August 28 to September 6.

They took lectures on overview of Gifu Prefectural Research Institute for Fisheries and Aquatic Environments and Gifu Prefectural Inland Fisheries Training Center, GIAHS “Ayu of the Nagara River System,” conservation of clear water, biodiversity, and visited Ayu hatchery, fisheries cooperatives, aquaculture farm of sturgeon, and participated in practical training on creation of artificial spawning river for upper stream fish and cultivation technique of testicular sperm of Ayu. Some visits were canceled because of the typhoon No. 21 on September 4, however, the training program was completed successfully.

On the last day, trainees, instructors and our staff members exchanged opinions and we received feedback from trainees on overall training program.
